Freewill

You know that feeling when your mom is asking – or in my case, literally begging – for you to join her in going somewhere but you don’t want to because you know you don’t have anything to do there?
It’s so easy to say ‘No’, but then, when its you’re mom who’s asking, what choice do we have, right? After all, when we ask something from her, she would give it to us by hook or by crook. It would, more likely, be a ‘Yes’ and it would be up to our conscience if we do say ‘No’.

And that brings me to that thing that I want to thank God for tonight. It’s the thing called FREEWILL.

No, not a ‘free wheel’, idiot! Smile

It’s such an interesting thing that God actually created human beings to be ‘according to His image’ yet gave us the freedom to do what we want for ourselves.

There’s just so much we all could do here in our lives and most often than not, we take that freewill for granted thinking that our destiny is all in our hands. We make choices based on what we think is right and not according to what God really wants for us.

In my case, that happens a lot. I grew up in a Christian family, with a sound Biblical doctrine to follow. And my decisions in life should reflect the principles that I have been taught with throughout these years  – which I know is proven correct and right all the time – yet with my curious mind on top of me, I tend to veer towards the unorthodox and experiment with circumstances that could eventually go wrong.

Ok, I know I’m talking a little too deep here now and the tone here is a bit serious, but this kind of thing to thank God for is something immaterial and naturally a pensive topic.

I am just grateful to God right now that He provided us with so much free will to do what we want and learn from it too. The possibilities of things that we could do with it are countless as long as we are alive. And it’s just up to us to use it right.
