Review: RiRe Pore Tightening Fresh Toner

My journey to achieving that flawless, spotless skin has led me to so many trials and errors with products that either caused me more breakouts or helped me minimize the zits and redness. Indeed, it has been a struggle and even until now, I’m still searching for the products that will fit me as new ones emerge in the market.

I got this RiRe Pore Tightening Fresh Toner from an Althea Box I purchased a while back and tried it for almost 3 weeks because of its interesting claims. Here’s a rundown of the facts I’ve gathered so far.

Best Suitable For:

Sensitive, Oily, Large Pores Skin Type.

Claims:

✓ Pore Total Care
✓ Intensive Moisturizing
✓ Balance Care
✓ 5 No! Paraben/Talk/Mineral Oil/ Silicon/Artifical Dyes
✓ Absorbs Sebum
✓ Relaxing Skin

Ingredients:

One of the reasons I was excited to try this was because of the ingredient list of which the top ones are:

  ✓ Amazon White Clay

✓ Volcanic Ash Extract

✓ Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract

✓ Aloe Barbedensis Leaf Extract

✓ Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract

✓ Coffee Arabica Seed Extract

Interestingly, it claims that the Amazon White Clay Ash Extract acts as the pore cleanser, drawing impurities out of the pore. Basically, that’s true with most clay ingredients. Tea Tree Extract is known for its antibacterial properties on the skin as well as its tissue regenerative properties, so it’s entirely proper to say that it’s for ‘relaxing skin.’ Aloe Vera is widely known for its wound healing properties as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. And finally, for its pore-tightening ingredients, they added in “Castanea Crenata Shell” and “Diospyros Kaki Leaf.”

How to Use:

As the label says, after washing, pour in a cotton pad and wipe softly. As it contains powder, shake enough and use it.

Pros:

I like the fact that it contains a natural antibacterial Tea Tree Extract, instead of Salicylic Acid which tends to irritate my skin far worse. ‘Niacinamide’ is another ingredient that fascinates me. The fact that it’s not stingy on the face when I apply it makes it an enjoyable thing to use on a daily basis. It does not leave my skin feeling tight and dry afterward, which makes it cool because I noticed when I was using this that my skin wasn’t as oily as it did before I started using this. With that said, I think that’s part of the reason why my pores were slightly smaller than it used to be, after a full day out.   Cons: I can’t say it did much to remove my acne or did something really fantastic on my skin. My acne was still there. And it didn’t shrink the pimples or reduce the count of it.

Overall:

I think if you’re not sensitive to anything that is in this product, it’s safe to say that I would recommend this to you. However, if you’re a picky user like me, and you want something that will work immediately to get rid of your acne, this might not be the product for you. I would say, though, that is a gentle toner, and it does the toning job quite well. It cleans the pores out and leaves it feeling light and fresh, not tight and dry. For my skin, I would give this a 4 out of  5.

Have you tried this one before? If not, what are the acne removing toners you could recommend for all of us to try? Please leave it in the comment below!
